About Next to Kibera
Accanto a Kibera is an association active between Italy and Kenya that supports the Missionary Brothers of Charity by offering the most disadvantaged the opportunity for a better future through education and vocational training.
Next to Kibera is not just our name, but our Mission.
Being Next to Us is a profound conviction in our care for our weakest and most lonely brothers. The example of Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta reminds us that
"Active Prayer is Love and active Love is Service."
Where hunger, fatigue, and the violence of life extinguish the flame of Hope, a small act of affection is like a spark that shines in the darkness.
Your generous gesture will be a testimony that each of us can do small but great things with great love and will contribute to realizing great projects and bringing light to the lives of many people.
The Association
Some of us have known each other for years, while others met by joining the Association.
However, we are all united by the desire to dedicate some of our time to try to change a few stories that go unnoticed, that don’t make the headlines.
We know that alone we cannot change the world, but together we can be the engine of this change and a sign of hope for the generations to come.
