La New Life Home di Isiolo

The "New Life Home" in Isiolo, run by the Brothers of Charity, is located just outside the village of Isiolo (about 270 km north of Nairobi) and accommodates around 6 Brothers and 6 Postulants.

In Isiolo, the Brothers offer numerous services to the local community without making any distinctions of ethnicity, gender, or religious belief.

The Disabled

Inside the home, the Brothers host around 35 people with various disabilities who would otherwise have no prospects in life, as they have been abandoned by their families and society. Since the summer of 2024, a physiotherapy room has also been operational in Isiolo. To learn more, click here.

The Sewing School

In 2019, with the financial support of those who would later found the "Accanto a Kibera" Association, the Brothers built a two-story building that has since housed the sewing school. Through this school, 10 girls each year have the opportunity to attend a course, at the end of which they are each gifted a sewing machine, allowing them to start their own small business and gain a degree of financial independence for themselves or their families.

The School

Believing that education is the only way to keep children away from the streets, the Brothers also run a school in Isiolo (located about 3 km from their home) where they offer about 350 children the chance to attend kindergarten and primary school completely free of charge, providing them with a hot meal every day (often the only one they receive).

At the same time, the Brothers cover the teachers' salaries, relying on Divine Providence.

The Brothers visit all the families who request to enroll their children, to personally verify the conditions of extreme poverty.

Work

The Brothers offer local people the opportunity to work in the home in various roles, such as washing, cooking, and caring for the disabled.

Services to the Local Community

The Brothers serve the local community in many other ways, for example, by distributing food or clothes to the most needy, and making regular visits to some families in particularly difficult conditions to monitor the situation and provide concrete help, especially concerning their children.
