The Physiotherapy Room

As we have written many times on these pages, disability is a particularly critical issue in Kenya. Often, families of people with disabilities do not have the means to provide the necessary care, which in many cases leads them to abandon the sick person. For this reason, the Brothers dedicate a section of their homes to welcome these people and care for them, thanks also to the help of many local volunteers.

In addition, another serious problem afflicts the country: road accidents. The roads are very chaotic, there is a widespread use of motorcycles and scooters (also used as taxi services) and there is a poor culture of road safety. For these reasons, road accidents are very frequent and, if they do not cause death, they still cause damage and injuries that people are often unable to treat due to lack of the necessary means.

For these reasons, we have decided to finance, with about €8,000 for the purchase of equipment, the Brothers' project to set up a physiotherapy room in Isiolo. In this way, thanks to the help of some local professionals, the Brothers will be able to provide, free of charge, the necessary care both to the disabled guests of their home and to people who have been victims of road accidents.
